A child’s understanding of the world begins at birth and is guided by the wisdom and traditions of generations before them. The connectedness between family and school serves as the foundation of every child’s unique path to learning. As partners in your child’s education, we are committed to ensuring open channels of engagement between home and school that will support this mutually respectful, goal-oriented relationship.
With that in mind, we are excited to announce the Science Akadémeia Family Engagement Series, which will provide numerous ways for families to get involved throughout the year with their children. This collaboration will foster global citizenship and provide an opportunity for kids to appreciate their unique identities as a part of one earth family. This series is called the SATAPOS WORLD TOUR. A virtual adventure that invites each child and their family to share their personal stories from around the world about their own background and history.
As we embark on this fascinating virtual trip around the world, we encourage families to participate. At each virtual stop, we will explore the habitats, ecology, climate, culture, flora, and fauna. This will be a great opportunity for kids to learn about our earth home and to partner with parents to continue to create a supportive learning environment.
Our trip around the world takes us to all seven continents: Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Australia, and Antarctica. We will start with Africa for the month of January, Asia for the month of February, and so forth. We are asking all families to please sign up to participate by sharing their culture and traditions with us and please let us know their selected continent. Also, families will be asked to please provide artifacts and educational materials to put on display.
